Cell phone mania among children

Take a look around yourself. Going to the bank, endless faces in line staring at their devices. Your dentist's waiting room flooded with patients bent over their portable electronics. Your favourite restaurant totally booked with customers sitting down at a table and checking their phones while their children are staring at tablets, Ipads, notebooks, etc...

Diagnose?

Isolated society that is wired up 24/7 and far too busy to socialize.

That's it?

What about our health and well being?

What about our children????

Cell phones emit a type of radiation that is known as Radio Frequency-Electromagnetic Radiation (RF-EMR). Our precious ones typically have smaller heads and smaller brains, therefore, their exposure is at least twice as high as with adults.

The radiation could be linked to a brain cancer, even though there is not enough research to prove that yet.

Cell phones and electrical devices also affect our children's behaviour. Watching videos on any device is like a sugar candy; it may quite often make our precious ones extremely hyperactive.

Children that spend extended amount of time on electronics have attention problems, cannot focus and are more likely to throw temper tantrums.

Here is an informational video from YouTube:

In order to avoid the radiation, or at least decrease it a tiny bit, pregnant women and all adults are urged to use a speaker or headphones.

As far as children are concerned, under the age of two there is absolutely no screen time allowed in order to provide a healthy grow together with proper brain development and eye sight.

As our children get older, it is our job as parents to monitor the amount of time spent on electronic devices. In order to show consistency it is high time for us the parents to log off once we are home and spend quality time with the family.

That means getting on a train and people watch, start random conversations with a stranger, go to a doctor's appointment with a book to read, jog with a friend to converse together and support each other, or while riding in a car together, converse, laugh and play.

Occupied with such a growing concerns about cell phones, we often forget about TV, which is quite often abused by young children. Statistically children ages two through five spend approximately 34 hours watching TV. That is like a full time job! Can you just picture the way you feel and look after all day at work?

Here is an image to help you envision your child:

And here is an image the Media want you to believe in:

I myself have a cell phone, my husband has a cell phone, my children have cell phones as well. We all have tablets, laptops, a Tv, xbox, etc.. The entire society is wired all around the world. It is twenty first century, indeed.

However, we as parents we should be smart about it and set limits for both children and ourselves.

As long as there is balance in our lives we are all going to be fine.
